Landing page or online store? How to pick what you actually need

· 5 min read

One of the first questions I hear from a new client is: "Do I need an online store?" The answer is almost never obvious until we look at how sales actually happen in that business.

When a landing page is enough

If you sell a service, book consultations, or run a one-off campaign, a landing page usually wins. One page, one clear goal — an inquiry, a booking, or a phone call — works better than a full store nobody has time to browse.

A landing page is also faster and cheaper to build, so if you're still testing a business idea or a new service, it's the natural first step.

When you actually need a store

A store makes sense when you sell many different products, customers choose and pay without talking to you, and orders need to be tracked somehow — inventory, shipping, statuses. If that describes your business, a landing page will quickly feel too small.

Good news: you don't have to guess. Tell me how you sell today and I'll tell you straight what actually makes sense — before you pay for features you'll never use.
